Welcome to the American Red Cross Learn-To-Swim Program. You have started your child on a journey to learn how to be safe in, on, and around the water and to swim well. American Red Cross Learn – to – Swim is made up of six levels of swimming and water safety instruction. As participants progress through the levels and develop these skills they become safer and better swimmers. We’re proud to offer you – Professional Water Safety Instructors who are well trained by the American Red Cross. Learning made fun in a safe environment. It is a balanced program that teaches swimming skills and how to be safe in the water. A comprehensive swimming and water safety program for everyone in the family – from infancy to adulthood.
LEARN-TO-SWIM-CLASSES

Level 1 - Water safety rules, entering the water, traveling 5 yards independently, bobbing 3 times, gliding on front supported 2 body lengths, rolling to a back float for 3 seconds with support and recover.

Level 2 - Water safety rules, jump in at chest deep water, float on front and back for 5 seconds and recover, roll from back to front and recover, push off and swim combined arm and legs on front for 5 body lengths and roll to back for 15 seconds, roll to front for 5 body lengths.

Level 3 - Water safety rules, jump into deep water, retrieving objects, front and back crawl 15 yards, dives, demonstrate rotary breathing, maintain body position in water by floating or treading water for 30 seconds.

Level 4 - Water safety rules, elementary backstroke 25 yards, butterfly 15 yards, breaststroke 15 yards, rescue breathing, freestyle 25 yards, back crawl 15 yards, open turns on the front and the back.

Level 5 - Water safety rules, shallow angle dive, elementary backstroke 50 yards, butterfly 25 yards, back crawl 25 yards, freestyle 50 yards, breaststroke 25 yards, feet first surface dive, tuck/pike surface dive, sidestroke 50 yards

Level 6 - Water safety rules, diving, continues with stroke proficiency work so students swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Lifeguard readiness, fitness swimming/swim team, personal water safety.

Parent Preschool and Parent Tot - are designed to acclimate a child to the water environment and teach muscle control and knowledge of pool rules and provide a safe friendly environment for the child to become accustomed to the pool.

Adult and Teen - provide an opportunity for these individuals to take swim lessons in a safe and friendly environment among people of their own age groups. Each class will be lead by at least one Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)
Parent’s come in for Second Half of the 5th class and the Entire 10th class to see their child’s progress in Swim Lessons.
Cost: $30.00 a Session.
